The Friends of Matt Connor Benefit

I'm really pleased and touched by the fact that my friends at the Lock Haven Express and the Clinton County Arts Council are preparing a gala benefit in my honor, to help defray the costs of living with cancer.

 

It's going to be a great night. For $10 at the door, you'll be entertained by world-renowned stand up comedian Joey Callahan, who has played all of the big rooms in Vegas and Atlantic City and comedy festivals around the world. He was nominated for a Cable Ace Award and was once a writer for Jay Leno. He's a terrific comic and he'll be emceeing the event along with doing his regular stand up routine.

 

And then there will be a concert by the classic rock band Face Down, which developed a huge following locally playing a mixture of the great old rock tunes of the sixties and seventies along with some current hits.

 

Additionally, there will be a silent art auction and raffle, where you can pick up a beautiful piece of original art while helping out on a good cause.

 

A short, 20-minute video, "Matt Connor: A Writer's Life" will also be presented, highlighting my life and career, with an emphasis on the deep affection I feel for this area and the people who live here.

 

There will be refreshments and soft drinks available for purchase, but attendees are encouraged to bring along a boxed meal or snacks, picnic style. BYOB
